Duties

• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following strict infection control and aseptic techniques.
• Assist dentists during various procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, with precision and efficiency.
• Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed.
• Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic to ensure accurate medical documentation and coding.
• Monitor vital signs and medical history to support comprehensive patient care, especially in pediatric dentistry cases.
• Provide excellent customer service as a dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and guiding patients through their visit process.
• Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control standards and OSHA regulations.
• Support the team with medical imaging procedures and assist with complex treatments involving endodontics or prosthodontics as needed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working in a dental clinic setting with knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology.
• Proficiency in using dental software such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for scheduling, records management, and billing.
• Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures.
• Ability to operate X-ray machines safely while following HIPAA guidelines for patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Familiarity with pediatric dentistry procedures and working with children is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of medical coding and documentation related to dental procedures is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists, hygienists, and specialists.
• Certification in CPR or basic life support (BLS) is preferred; ongoing training in dental assisting or related fields is encouraged. Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
