Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and care.
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring an aseptic environment following infection control protocols.
  • Take dental X-rays and other medical imaging to assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Support patients by explaining procedures, taking vital signs, and addressing questions to foster comfort and trust.
  • Maintain clinical supplies inventory, order materials as needed, and ensure all equipment including 3D scanners is properly maintained.
  • Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
  • Document medical coding and update medical records accurately for billing and insurance purposes.
  • Adhere to strict infection control standards using proper aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety at all times.
  • Collaborate with the dental team on patient care plans involving pediatrics, prosthodontics, endodontics, or other specialties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
  • Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and medical terminology.
  • Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging tools proficiently.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to medical documentation and patient privacy.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, staff, and healthcare providers.
  • Certification in dental assisting or related fields preferred; additional training in pediatrics or specialized areas like prosthodontics is advantageous.
  • Ability to perform vital signs assessment and support pediatric dentistry procedures confidently. Pay: $22.00 - $29.00 per hour
