Dental Assistant

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Patient Care
  • Greet and prepare patients for dental procedures.
  • Ensure patient comfort before, during, and after procedures.
  • Provide patients with oral hygiene and postoperative care instructions.
  • Clinical Support
  • Assist the dentist during procedures by handing instruments, suctioning, and maintaining a sterile environment.
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
  • Take and process X-rays as instructed by the dentist.
  • Administrative Duties
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment notes.
  • Manage inventory by ordering and restocking dental supplies.
  • Instrument and Equipment Handling
  • Clean, sterilize, and organize dental instruments and equipment.
  • Ensure equipment is functioning properly and report any malfunctions.
  • Education and Communication
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care.
  • Communicate effectively with the dental team to ensure smooth workflow and patient satisfaction.
  • Regulatory Compliance
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all dental practice policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Certification or diploma in dental assisting (preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with dental software and X-ray equipment.
  • Commitment to maintaining a positive and professional work environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
