Duties

  • Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring an aseptic environment
  • Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans while maintaining proper radiation safety protocols
  • Manage patient records using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate medical documentation and coding
  • Collect vital signs and medical history information to support comprehensive patient assessments
  • Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and comfort
  • Support infection control practices in accordance with HIPAA regulations and OSHA standards

Skills

  • Proficiency in dental assisting procedures including dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology
  • Experience with dental software platforms like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation
  • Skilled in taking X-rays, utilizing 3D scanners, and performing medical imaging with precision
  • Strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures
  • Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices to effectively assist young patients
  • Ability to communicate clearly with patients and team members; experience as a dental receptionist is a plus
  • Familiarity with medical coding related to dental procedures and documentation requirements

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
