Duties

• Assist dentists chairside during a variety of dental procedures.
• Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and sterilization equipment following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
• Take dental X-rays using digital imaging technology such as 3D scanners and other medical imaging tools
• Manage patient records accurately within practice management software (PMS) system Open Dental while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
• Monitor vital signs and medical documentation for patients with special needs or medical conditions
• Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and maintaining organized medical records and documentation
• Apply knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and dental coding to ensure precise communication and recordkeeping across all clinical activities

Skills

• Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, four-handed dentistry, and infection control practices
• Experience with PMS system Open Dental for efficient documentation and record management
• Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient confidentiality at all times
• Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging devices
• Familiarity with general dentistry procedures
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members including dental receptionists and assistants while providing compassionate patient care
