Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and sterilization procedures to ensure readiness for each patient appointment.
- Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry by handing instruments and managing patient comfort.
- Take vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates to assist with patient assessment and ensure safety.
- Manage electronic medical records Dentrix Ascend, accurately documenting procedures, diagnoses, and treatment plans in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients on dental procedures, post-operative care, and oral hygiene practices to promote ongoing health.
- Handle administrative tasks including scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist and updating medical records efficiently.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and sterilization standards to uphold safety standards within the dental clinic.
Experience
- Previous experience working in a dental office or clinic setting is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with dental terminology and dental assisting procedures is essential.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance ensures confidentiality of patient information at all times.
- Ability to fabricate temporary crowns and perform digital impressions using iTero scanner
- Experience assisting with various dental specialties including prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry is advantageous.
