Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and become a vital part of delivering exceptional oral healthcare in a 100% fee for service practice with average appointment time of 40 minutes! In this energetic role, you will support owner dentist in providing comprehensive dental treatments, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining efficient clinic operations. Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, oral surgery and pediatric dentistry.
  • Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use following strict infection control protocols.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Carestream Softdent, ensuring all medical documentation is accurate and up-to-date while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
  • Provide chairside assistance by handling dental terminology efficiently, supporting procedures with aseptic technique, and monitoring vital signs when needed.
  • Support administrative tasks such as greeting patients as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, and managing medical records with precision.
  • Educate patients on oral health practices and post-treatment care to promote long-term dental wellness.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems like Carestream Softdent, including medical coding and documentation practices.
  • Familiarity with infection control standards, aseptic technique, and anatomy knowledge relevant to dentistry.
  • Ability to operate dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners confidently.
  • Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and pediatric dentistry considerations.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics.
  • Certification or training in chairside assisting, infection control practices, or related fields is highly preferred. Join us in creating healthier smiles!
