Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in a pediatric dentistry settings. Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and available.
- Perform X-rays and maintain accurate medical documentation for each patient visit.
- Take vital signs and record patient histories to assist in treatment planning.
- Implement aseptic techniques to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Manage sterilization of dental instruments and maintain an organized clinical environment.
- Support the front office with scheduling appointments, confirming patient visits, and managing patient records as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to provide exceptional patient experiences in a friendly and professional manner.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred, particularly in pediatric dentistry.
- Familiarity with dental software such as Dentrix is a plus.
- Knowledge of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques is essential.
- Ability to perform basic dental procedures under the supervision of the dentist.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and team members.
- Certification in radiology or willingness to obtain certification if required by state regulations.
- A compassionate approach towards patient care, especially with children in a dental clinic environment.
