Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and become a vital part of delivering exceptional oral healthcare! In this energetic role, you will support the dentist in providing efficient, comfortable care to the patients.
Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging tools such as 3D scanners and medical imaging devices while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient records efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) Open Dental, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes. Provide vital signs monitoring and assist with medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care. Maintain infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Support the dental reception area by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient flow seamlessly.
Experience
Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry or pediatric dentistry practices. Proficiency with dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and understanding dental terminology is essential. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Open Dental enhances efficiency in managing medical records and documentation. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards and infection control protocols ensures confidentiality and safety at all times. Experience with medical coding and medical terminology is advantageous for supporting comprehensive patient records. Hands-on experience with advanced imaging tools like 3D scanners or other medical imaging devices is a plus. A solid understanding of anatomy knowledge related to oral structures aids in precise assistance during procedures.
