PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Provides chair-side assistance to dental providers in all phases of restorative, prosthodontic, surgical, endodontic, pediatric and periodontic treatment as provided in general dentistry. Has clinic maintenance and record keeping duties
Qualifications

Must have High School diploma or equivalent.

Must have completed an Accredited Dental Assisting course or 1 year of dental chairside experience.

Dental Assistant National Board Certificate (CDA) preferred but not required

Must be a self-starter. Able to work without direct supervision.

Knowledge of dental instruments and medical/dental terminology.

Knowledge of basic computer skills

Must be able to complete Indian Health Service (his) x-ray competency evaluation.

Must be able to provide age- specific care to patients of all age levels

Must pay attention to detail and assume responsibility for tasks assigned.
Essential Functions

Seat patients in the dental chair, prepares them for treatment, and reviews their dental records.

Sterilize, disinfect instruments and dental equipment.

Provides post-operative instructions and provides oral health care education.

Prepare materials for dental procedures per manufacturers instruction.
