Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, arranging supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with infection control protocols.
  • Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing necessary tools and materials promptly.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging technology such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools while maintaining patient comfort and safety.
  • Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for confidentiality.
  • Perform vital signs assessments and document medical history to support comprehensive patient care.
  • Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral health best practices using clear dental terminology.
  • Support infection control practices through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures to maintain a safe clinical environment.
  • Handle administrative duties including scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist, verifying insurance information, and managing medical documentation and coding for billing purposes.
  • Assist with medical documentation related to pediatrics or specialized treatments like prosthodontics or endodontics as needed.

Experience

  • Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry or pediatric dentistry practices.
  • Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and managing dental instruments.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for record keeping and documentation.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines along with infection control standards to ensure patient privacy and safety.
  • Understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge relevant to oral health care, and medical terminology related to dental treatments.
  • Experience with medical imaging tools like 3D scanners or other advanced diagnostic equipment is advantageous.

Hours: Monday: 7:45 AM- 6PM, Tuesday: 7:45 AM -4 PM, Wednesday 7:45AM -6PM, Thursday: 7:45AM-4PM

Job Type: Full-time
