Dental Assistant

Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant, where you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our dental professionals. As a Dental Assistant, you will assist with clinical procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and safety. Duties

  • Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments using aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment.
  • Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging such as 3D scans, ensuring accurate positioning and patient comfort.
  • Manage patient records by updating medical documentation, medical coding, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for confidentiality.
  • Collect vital signs and medical history information to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, suctioning, and managing dental terminology for effective communication.
  • Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phones as a dental receptionist, and maintaining electronic health records using EMR systems like Dentrix or Epic.

Experience

  • Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in dental assisting procedures.
  • Knowledge of infection control protocols, sterilization processes, and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a safe clinical setting.
  • Skilled in operating dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and medical imaging devices.
  • Familiarity with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing patient records and scheduling.
  • Understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology to communicate effectively within the team.
  • Experience supporting pediatric dentistry or working with children is a plus.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
