Dental Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dental team. We are a small, single Doctor office located in Temecula. Most of our team has been here over 15 years! We are a close-knit group and we strive on communication and working as a TEAM regardless of your title to provide excellent patient care everyday. The ideal candidate must have a passion for dentistry, be a team player, willing to learn and grow, is independent, motivated, has good time management skills, reliable and can problem solve along with a strong understanding of dental setups, procedures and terminology. This role involves assisting the dentist during various treatments, assisting hygiene with occasional Perio charting or x-rays if needed, sterilization of instruments, placing orders for the back office and ensuring a smooth workflow within the dental clinic.

Duties

• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, employing four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
• Take and develop X-rays while adhering to safety protocols and HIPAA regulations.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records in Dentrix
• Conduct preliminary assessments including recording medical histories.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and post-operative care.
• Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe environment.
• Support pediatric dentistry procedures by creating a comfortable atmosphere for young patients.
• Collaborate with the dental receptionist to manage appointments and patient flow effectively.
• Stay updated on advancements in dental technology, including 3D scanning and medical imaging.

Experience
The ideal candidate will possess:

• Experience in dental assisting within a clinical setting, with familiarity in general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics being highly desirable.
• Proficiency in using Dentrix software for managing patient records.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and coding practices.
• A solid understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques relevant to dental procedures.

Pay: $19.00 - $26.00 per hour
