Dental Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable, dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our established family dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our dental team by providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic. This position requires a blend of clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a compassionate approach to patient interactions. Our practice provides a wide range of dental procedures with a focus on comprehensive care, including esthetics, oral surgery and implants with sedation.

Duties

• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a sterile environment.
• Take digital radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
• Manage patient records, including medical history and treatment plans.
• Prepare treatment rooms for procedures by sterilizing instruments and setting up necessary equipment.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and preventive practices.
• Monitor and record vital signs as part of patient assessments.
• Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing medical records.
• Support pediatric dentistry practices by providing specialized care for children.
• Utilize Dentrix dental software for efficient practice management.

Skills
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:

• Proficient in dental assisting techniques and procedures.
• Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry.
• Familiarity with dental imaging techniques, including CBCT.
• Experience with IV sedation.
• Ability to maintain aseptic technique in all clinical procedures.
• Strong organizational skills for managing medical records efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
• Excellence with provisionals.
• Experience as a dental receptionist is advantageous but not required.

Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour
