Responsibilities
Assist dentists with a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly using aseptic techniques. Provide chairside assistance during procedures such as X-ray imaging, medical imaging, and dental restorations. Manage patient records efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft while maintaining HIPAA compliance to protect patient privacy. Take vital signs and assist with pediatric dental care, ensuring comfort for young patients throughout their visit. Support infection control protocols by following strict sterilization procedures and maintaining a clean clinical environment. Operate advanced dental technology including 3D scanners and other medical imaging devices to aid diagnosis and treatment planning.

Qualifications
Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry, pediatrics, or prosthodontics. Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding is essential for accurate documentation. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic is required for managing patient records efficiently. Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, anatomy knowledge, and HIPAA regulations ensures compliance and safety. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to all radiation safety standards. Strong communication skills as a dental receptionist or front desk assistant are advantageous for coordinating patient flow and scheduling.
