Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team three days a week (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays). The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care. As a Dental Assistant, you will support the dentist during clinical procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the smooth operation of the dental practice. Duties
- Assist dentist during various dental procedures, including chairside assisting and providing necessary instruments and materials.
- Take digital dental radiographs while adhering to strict infection control and aseptic techniques.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly.
- Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) system (Eaglesoft), ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and preventive measures tailored to periodontal treatment .
- Perform vital signs assessments and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient evaluations.
- Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments and maintaining organized medical records.
- Collaborate with the dental team to enhance efficiency and patient comfort
Requirements
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with proficiency in dental assisting techniques.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques essential for safe practice.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
- Ability to operate dental imaging equipment properly and take digital X-rays accurately
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security.
- Certification in radiography (X-ray certification) required
- Excellent communication skills for interacting effectively with patients of all ages, and collaborating within the dental team.
- Flexibility to help wherever needed to keep everything running smoothly and deliver a great patient experience.

Pay: $19.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
