Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our growing dental practice. Looking for someone who can work Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays! We will be opening Thursdays as well starting in July or August. No experience? No problem! We are willing to train the right candidate- although having your certifications is a must.
The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional patient care, ensuring efficient workflow, and maintaining strict adherence to infection control protocols. Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following aseptic techniques and infection control standards.
- Assist dentists during various procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Perform chairside assisting, including passing instruments, managing suction, and maintaining patient comfort.
- Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols.
- Record vital signs and medical history information accurately in Eaglesoft.
- Manage patient flow by scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients on post-treatment care and dental terminology to promote oral health awareness.
- Support administrative functions as needed, including dental reception duties and managing medical coding for billing purposes.
Skills
- Proficiency with Eaglesoft
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control procedures to ensure patient confidentiality and safety.
- Experience with dental imaging techniques including X-ray and 3D scanning technology.
- Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques efficiently.
- Experience working in general dentistry practices with exposure to pediatric dentistry preferred.
- Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control standards within a dental clinic setting.
