Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice while providing exceptional care to our patients. This position requires proficiency in various dental procedures and familiarity with dental technologies, as well as a commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.

Duties

  • Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques.
  • Prepare and maintain the treatment room, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use.
  • Perform chairside assisting, including taking dental X-rays and managing medical imaging tasks.
  • Document patient information accurately in EMR systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Maintain infection control protocols and adhere to aseptic techniques throughout all procedures.
  • Manage patient records, including medical documentation and coding, while ensuring confidentiality.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
  • Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow effectively.
  • Support pediatric dentistry efforts by providing compassionate care to young patients.
  • Stay updated on dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and advancements in dental technology such as 3D scanners.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred, with familiarity in general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
  • Proficient in using dental software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic is a plus.
  • Knowledge of vital signs monitoring and medical terminology is beneficial.
  • Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic technique is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
