Dental assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic. As a Dental Assistant, you will work closely with dentist to support various dental procedures, maintain patient comfort, and uphold the highest standards of hygiene and safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by preparing instruments and materials.
• Maintain an aseptic technique to ensure a sterile environment.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as required.
• Record patient medical histories and vital signs accurately.
• Manage patient appointments, including scheduling and confirming visits.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dental clinic, including sterilizing instruments.
• Utilize dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for patient records management.
• Support pediatric patients with a friendly demeanor to ensure a positive experience.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique and anatomy related to dentistry.
• Familiarity with dental software systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is advantageous.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy.
• Ability to take vital signs and provide basic health assessments.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
• Experience in pediatrics is a plus, showcasing the ability to work with children in a dental environment.
• Certification or training as a Dental Assistant is preferred but not mandatory.
