Dental Assistant

Job Summary
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant, where your enthusiasm and expertise will help create a welcoming environment for patients while supporting the delivery of exceptional dental care. In this vital role, you will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the clinic operates smoothly and efficiently. Duties

  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for procedures.
  • Assist dentists chairside during various treatments, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient comfort while adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Manage patient records using OpenDental, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Perform vital signs measurements and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient assessments.
  • Educate patients on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile environment following aseptic techniques and infection control standards.

Skills

  • Proficiency with OpenDental system for scheduling, record keeping, and medical coding.
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.
  • Experience with chairside assisting techniques such as four-handed dentistry to enhance efficiency during procedures.
  • Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including 3D scanners and X-ray machines safely and effectively.
  • Familiarity with infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures within a dental clinic setting.
  • Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices to provide compassionate care for young patients.
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate appointments and handle patient inquiries professionally.
