Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and sterilized equipment in accordance with aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
  • Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing chairside support with efficiency and professionalism
  • Take and develop X-ray images while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety standards for medical imaging
  • Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and coding
  • Collect vital signs and medical history information from patients to support comprehensive care planning
  • Provide excellent dental receptionist duties by scheduling appointments, answering patient inquiries, and maintaining organized medical records
  • Operate advanced dental technology including 3D scanners and assist with procedures involving medical imaging tools

Skills

  • Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and chairside support
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices
  • Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft for managing patient data efficiently
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of medical records and documentation
  • Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while maintaining aseptic technique
  • Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles to provide age-appropriate patient care
  • Understanding of medical coding related to dental procedures for accurate billing and recordkeeping
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and hygienists
  • Ability to handle medical terminology related to general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics confidently
