Dental Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic. This position requires proficiency in various dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for patients.

Duties

• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
• Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
• Manage patient records, including medical documentation and dental records, while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
• Utilize Dentrix for scheduling appointments and maintaining accurate patient information.
• Conduct preliminary assessments by taking vital signs, x-rays and gathering medical history from patients.
• Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
• Operate 3D scanners as needed for specific procedures.
• Collaborate with the dental receptionist to ensure efficient patient flow and appointment management.

Experience
Candidates should possess an Ohio X-Ray License, prior experience in a dental clinic setting, familiarity with dental terminology and dental coding related to treatment procedures. A strong understanding of infection control practices is essential for maintaining a safe environment for both patients and staff.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
