Dental Assistant

Dental Assistant / Sterilization Tech - Full time

Bright Smiles Dentistry is looking for a Dental Assistant with at least 1 year of experience. Ideal candidate must have X-ray certification. You will support the doctor by breaking down rooms, processing instruments, assisting with pre-screening, taking temperatures, aiding in health history updates, entering patient charting and taking digital x-ray images. Primary Function:

• Provide chair side assistance and clinical support to the Doctor.
• Prepare examination and treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and moving equipment into place.
• Perform x-ray examinations and enter patient information in computer.
• Perform 4-handed dentistry, including passing instruments for restorative,oral surgery procedures, mixing and filling materials.Take and mount digital x-rays.
• Ensure comfort of patients.Escort patients to and from dental chair.
• Order, check and shelve dental supplies.
• Pack, receive, check laboratory work and inventory lab cases.
• Remove clinical trash for the day.
• Requirements: Minimum requirement x-ray certification.
• Ability to perform the essential duties and meet physical demands.
• Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives with moderate supervision.
• Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to relate with co-workers and patients.Ability to communicate fluently in English because a majority of the employees and patients are English speaking.
• Required Experience:Dentrix/DEXIS dental software program,Digital x-rays for dental assistant
• Required Education:Dental assistant: minimum requirement is NJ x-ray license, CDA, RDA.
