Duties

• Assist dentists chairside during various procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and oral surgery treatments
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly
• Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners and dental x-ray machines
• Perform vital signs assessments and document medical history to support comprehensive patient care
• Maintain strict infection prevention protocols by following dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques
• Provide excellent patient management by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring comfort throughout visits

Skills

• Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and chairside support
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures across general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery
• Experience with dental equipment operation such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and medical imaging devices
• Familiarity with dental software like Dentrix or Eaglesoft for scheduling, billing, and medical documentation
• Expertise in infection control practices aligned with healthcare infection prevention standards
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatric patients in a pediatric dentistry setting
• Knowledge of medical documentation requirements and maintaining clinical confidentiality policies
