<Responsibilities>
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments, ensuring efficient workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic technique to uphold infection control standards.
- Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging using advanced equipment such as 3D scanners, ensuring accurate positioning and patient comfort.
- Manage patient records by updating electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic with detailed medical documentation and coding.
- Measure vital signs and assess patient comfort levels before procedures to ensure safety and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support front desk operations by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and assisting with dental receptionist duties.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control protocols and knowledge of anatomy to assist with complex procedures in general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatrics.
<Skills>
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques essential for safe clinical practice.
- Experience with chairside assisting in various dental specialties including pediatric dentistry and prosthodontics.
- Ability to operate dental imaging equipment like X-ray machines and 3D scanners accurately.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security at all times.
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish to effectively serve diverse patient populations.
