Duties

• Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring efficient workflow and patient comfort.
• Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies, maintaining strict aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
• Take dental radiographs (X-ray) while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety standards; operate digital imaging equipment such as 3D scanners when needed.
• Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Open Dental or Easy Dental; update medical documentation accurately and securely.
• Conduct vital signs assessments and medical imaging procedures; assist with chairside assisting during procedures with four-handed dentistry techniques.
• Support administrative tasks as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use; monitor inventory levels of dental supplies.

Experience

• Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting, preferably with exposure to general dentistry procedures.
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as Open Dental or Easy Dental.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques essential for safe clinical practice.
• Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining patient safety; experience with 3D scanners or advanced medical imaging tools is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to medical records and patient confidentiality; experience handling medical documentation and coding is preferred.
