Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant at our McKinney location! Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment
- Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry
- Take and develop X-ray images, ensuring proper technique and patient comfort while adhering to HIPAA regulations for medical documentation and records
- Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical histories, and recording vital signs accurately in electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
- Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry, ensuring all necessary tools and materials are ready for each procedure
- Educate patients on dental terminology, post-treatment care, and oral health best practices to promote ongoing wellness
- Maintain infection control protocols and ensure all equipment complies with health standards, including 3D scanner operation when applicable
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with familiarity in dental assisting procedures and terminology
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with Epic is a plus
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques
- Ability to take accurate X-ray images and operate medical imaging devices including 3D scanners
- Strong understanding of anatomy, dental terminology, and medical documentation standards
- Experience working in pediatric dentistry or general dentistry environments preferred
- Certification in CPR/BLS; additional certifications in pediatrics or endodontics are advantageous
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members including dental receptionists and other healthcare professionals
