Dental Assistant - McKinney Location

Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant at our McKinney location! Duties

  • Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment
  • Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry
  • Take and develop X-ray images, ensuring proper technique and patient comfort while adhering to HIPAA regulations for medical documentation and records
  • Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical histories, and recording vital signs accurately in electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
  • Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry, ensuring all necessary tools and materials are ready for each procedure
  • Educate patients on dental terminology, post-treatment care, and oral health best practices to promote ongoing wellness
  • Maintain infection control protocols and ensure all equipment complies with health standards, including 3D scanner operation when applicable

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with familiarity in dental assisting procedures and terminology
  • Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with Epic is a plus
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques
  • Ability to take accurate X-ray images and operate medical imaging devices including 3D scanners
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, dental terminology, and medical documentation standards
  • Experience working in pediatric dentistry or general dentistry environments preferred
  • Certification in CPR/BLS; additional certifications in pediatrics or endodontics are advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members including dental receptionists and other healthcare professionals

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
