Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with aseptic techniques.
- Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including restorations, extractions, root canals, and prosthodontics.
- Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners while maintaining proper radiation safety protocols.
- Manage patient records by accurately updating medical records, medical documentation, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
- Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, taking vital signs, and addressing patient questions with professionalism and empathy.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing “open Dental software“, and assisting the dental receptionist with front desk duties.
- Maintain infection control standards through proper sterilization procedures and knowledge of anatomy to assist with complex procedures across various specialties including pediatric dentistry, endodontics, and prosthodontics.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred.
- Willingness to Cross trained front desk
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance, medical coding, and medical terminology ensures accurate documentation and confidentiality.
- Hands-on experience with chairside assisting in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry enhances your ability to support diverse patient needs.
- Familiarity with X-ray techniques, medical imaging equipment including 3D scanners, and infection control practices is crucial for success in this role.
- Strong understanding of dental anatomy and aseptic techniques supports safe and effective patient care across multiple specialties like prosthodontics and endodontics.
