Dental Assistant/Registered Dental Assistant

Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques
  • Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards are maintained
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), including 3D scans when applicable, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
  • Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic to accurately document patient information and treatment details
  • Conduct vital signs assessments and medical imaging to support comprehensive patient care
  • Educate patients on dental terminology, procedures, and post-treatment care to promote understanding and compliance
  • Support front desk operations as a dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and managing patient flow
  • Maintain inventory of dental supplies and ensure all equipment is sterilized and functioning properly
  • Follow all infection control protocols, including proper sterilization techniques and handling of medical records

Experience

  • Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred
  • Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is essential for efficient documentation
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical coding practices ensures compliance with privacy standards
  • Familiarity with pediatric dentistry procedures and pediatric patient management is a plus
  • Hands-on experience with X-ray techniques, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging tools enhances your versatility
  • Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry procedures is required
  • Ability to perform chairside assisting confidently while maintaining aseptic technique and infection control standards
