As part of our team, you will:
- Welcome patients.
- Maintain appointment schedule.
- Prepare charts and collect clinical records.
- Conduct treatment consultations with patients when new treatment plans are presented.
- Address patient concerns regarding financial and scheduling questions.
- Understand the contractual requirements of dental benefit plans and educate patients on their dental benefits.
- Check patients out, including receiving and recording payment, creating insurance claim(s), and scheduling next appointment.
- Audit patient accounts and send patient statements.
- Perform general office duties, such as, greeting deliveries, photocopying, filing paperwork, scanning, faxing, texting, and sending email correspondence.
Insurance Coordinating Duties:
- Review of insurance policies to determine coverage and eligibility.
- Prepare insurance claim forms or related documents and review them for completeness.
- Provide patient education, specific to the exchange of insurance information by physicians, insurance companies, and patients.
- Process insurance claims by either electronic submission, or via US mail
- Post or attach information to dental claim files by use of basic personal computer application.
- Research insurance eligibility on all new patients prior to their appointment with physician's.
- Provide requested information, that is needed on patients; such as x-rays, charting, narratives and documentation, when a request is received, by insurance companies and/or physician's, which will assist in the ongoing facilitation of treatment and payment of patient claims.
- Determine the patients financial responsibility, by researching the patients insurance eligibility, percentage of payment that will be due by the patient, and what will be received by the insurance carrier.
- Establish financial arrangements with the patients, based of those facts.
Requirements:
- 1 year of experience working in dentistry with knowledge of dental operations.
- 1 year of technical expertise in dental insurance benefits.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Ability to perform detailed work according to established formats and protocols.
Previous experience working in dental front office (preferred).
Compensation will be commensurate with experience level.
