Job Summary

Johnson & Associates Dental by Elite Dental, is seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-service-driven Dental Front Office Assistant to join our Fountain, CO team. This role serves as the first point of contact for patients and plays a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations, excellent patient experiences, and efficient front office workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Interaction & Customer Service

  • Greet patients warmly and provide a welcoming, professional atmosphere
  • Answer phone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and schedule appointments
  • Manage patient check-in and check-out, including processing payments and insurance verifications

Appointment Management

  • Coordinate and schedule patient appointments to optimize clinic flow
  • Send appointment reminders and follow up with patients regarding upcoming or rescheduled appointments

Administrative Duties

  • Maintain and update patient records accurately within the clinic’s database
  • Prepare and manage patient charts, ensuring all documentation is complete and properly filed
  • Handle correspondence, emails, and faxes related to patient care and clinic operations

Billing & Insurance

  • Verify patient insurance information and benefits prior to appointments
  • Process insurance claims and follow up on outstanding claims for timely reimbursement
  • Collect, record, and explain patient payments and billing information as needed

Office Coordination

  • Ensure the front desk and waiting area are clean, organized, and well-stocked
  • Assist with coordination of office events and patient outreach initiatives
  • Support the dental team with additional administrative tasks as needed to ensure efficient operations

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • 2 years Dental Experience
  • Additional certification in office administration or a related field is a plus

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with dental practice management software and basic office tools (e.g., Microsoft Office)
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Customer service-oriented with a friendly and professional demeanor

Other Qualifications

  • Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures is a plus
  • Familiarity with dental insurance billing and coding practices
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information
