Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and organized Dental Front Office Coordinator to join our vibrant dental practice. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience from appointment scheduling to insurance verification. Your expertise in medical and dental administrative support, combined with exceptional customer service skills, will help foster a positive environment for both patients and staff. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy, providing excellent patient service.
- Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring optimal clinic flow.
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance authorization, and handle insurance verification processes accurately utilizing EMR systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth.
- Manage patient intake and medical records, including filing, documentation review, and maintaining health information management standards in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Process payments, perform medical collection activities, and assist with medical billing using CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and Meditech or eClinicalWorks platforms.
- Support office management tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and maintaining organized medical records in accordance with health information management protocols.
- Coordinate with clinical staff to facilitate care plans and ensure seamless communication between patients and providers.
Skills
- Proven experience in dental office administration or medical office management with strong clerical skills.
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, or Dentrix; familiarity with Eaglesoft is a plus.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), and HIPAA compliance standards.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and multi-line phone system operation.
- Strong customer service orientation with exceptional phone etiquette and communication skills.
- Ability to handle medical billing processes including insurance verification and collections effectively.
- Bilingual abilities are preferred to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
