Dental Hygiene Assistant

Join our dynamic dental team at Haven Dental as a Dental as a Hygiene Assistant, where your attention to detail and positive attitude help create a welcoming experience for patients of all ages. In this essential role, you will support dentists and hygienists with chairside assistance, ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols, and maintain accurate patient records. Your proactive approach will contribute to high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced clinical environment. This paid position offers valuable hands-on experience across multiple specialties, including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide chairside support during dental procedures by preparing treatment rooms, passing instruments, and managing materials efficiently
  • Take and process dental X-rays in compliance with radiation safety standards and HIPAA regulations
  • Accurately document patient information, treatment notes, and medical histories using EMR systems such as Dentrix
  • Record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature
  • Prepare patients for procedures by clearly explaining treatments and ensuring their comfort
  • Maintain a clean and safe clinical environment through proper sterilization, aseptic techniques, and biohazard disposal
  • Assist with front office duties as needed, including scheduling appointments and verifying insurance information
  • Support pediatric procedures using age-appropriate communication to create a positive experience for younger patients
  • Utilize advanced technology such as 3D scanners and digital imaging tools
  • Safeguard patient confidentiality and ensure full compliance with HIPAA guidelines

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience in a dental office preferred, especially in general or pediatric dentistry
  • Knowledge of dental assisting techniques, including four-handed dentistry
  • Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control, and sterilization practices
  • Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix.
  • Experience taking dental radiographs in accordance with safety standards
  • Familiarity with dental coding and documentation is a plus
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and excellent patient care

Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
