We are an award-winning general dental practice located in Novi, MI. We are looking for bright individuals who are ready to join our team of highly-skilled professionals. This opportunity is available to recent high school graduates or those who are interested in a career in the dental field but don’t have any prior healthcare experience. This position will expose potential candidates to various areas of a busy dental practice in order to build foundational knowledge within the dental field.

Hygiene Assistant responsibilities include the following:

• Greeting patients, bringing them to the operatory, and walking them out at discharge.
• Working with hygienists to clean, restock, and turn over rooms for next patient.
• Sterilizing instruments.
• Getting certified to take intraoral x-ray and Cone Beam x-ray exposures.
• Taking patient's medical history and updating records in the computer system, recording blood pressure, typing notes, etc.
• Assisting hygienists in performing a comprehensive periodontal evaluations by entering probe depths, bleeding points, recession, etc into the patient's chart.
• Understanding the anatomy of the mouth and becoming familiar with most common dental procedures by shadowing doctors & hygienists.
• Assist Hygienists in their day-to-day duties.
