Dental Hygienist

FRIDAYS NEEDED

Duties

  • Perform comprehensive dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth to prevent decay and gum disease
  • Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions
  • Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort
  • Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while maintaining proper aseptic techniques and infection control standards
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and preventive care strategies tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and managing medical records securely

Skills

  • Proficiency in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical coding to ensure precise documentation and communication
  • Experience with dental assisting, chairside assisting, and infection control protocols within general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, and medical imaging procedures relevant to dental care
  • Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for efficient recordkeeping and documentation review
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, documentation standards, and infection prevention techniques to uphold the highest safety standards
  • Ability to perform patient care with compassion, professionalism, and excellent communication skills tailored for pediatric patients when necessary
  • Demonstrated experience in dental office or clinic environments with a focus on infection control, aseptic technique, and detailed record management

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour
