Dental Hygienist

Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring optimal oral health for each patient
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions
  • Assist with chairside procedures such as taking dental radiographs (medical imaging), applying sealants, and providing post-operative instructions
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies tailored to their needs
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Follow strict infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff
  • Collaborate with dentists and other team members in delivering efficient general dentistry services, including pediatric dentistry when applicable

Requirements

  • Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice
  • Proven experience in dental office settings, preferably within a busy dental clinic or healthcare environment
  • Proficiency with dental terminology, medical coding, and documentation review processes
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques
  • Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing patient records effectively
  • Experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus but not required; a passion for working with children is highly valued
  • Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs accurately and communicate clearly
  • Ability to work efficiently in four-handed dentistry setups alongside dentists and other team members

Pay: $42.12 - $50.73 per hour
