Overview
Patient-focused private dental practice in St. Clair Shores seeking a full-time Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team. We pride ourselves on providing high-quality care in a positive environment where both patients and team members feel valued.

Duties

  • Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain optimal oral health.
  • Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans.
  • Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Follow strict infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures, to ensure a safe clinical environment.

Requirements

  • Valid Dental Hygiene license in good standing with relevant state licensing boards.
  • Proven experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred.
  • Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding for documentation review and billing purposes.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, infection control practices, and dental assisting procedures such as chairside assisting.
  • Experience with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable.
  • Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs compassionately and thoroughly.
