Duties

  • Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
  • Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans.
  • Assist during various dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort.
  • Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term dental health.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, medical history updates, and medical coding for billing purposes.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and managing sensitive medical records securely.

Experience

  • Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a busy dental office or clinic environment.
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and sterilization techniques.
  • Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices is highly desirable for caring for young patients effectively.
  • Ability to perform chairside assisting seamlessly during general dentistry procedures using proper aseptic techniques.
  • Understanding of medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, and medical imaging procedures relevant to dental care.
  • Prior experience in dental assisting or related roles that demonstrate excellent patient care skills and attention to detail.
