Registered Dental Hygienist

Duties

  • Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque, tartar, and stains.
  • Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, taking vital signs, and evaluating oral health status.
  • Assist with dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
  • Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays to assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
  • Follow infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Support the dental team with chairside assisting during various procedures while maintaining a high standard of patient care.
  • Review medical records for completeness and accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and documentation standards.
  • Stay current with dental terminology, medical coding, and industry best practices to provide top-tier care.

Experience

  • Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a general or pediatric dentistry setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of infection control procedures, anatomy, dental terminology, and medical terminology is essential.
  • Experience in pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform dental procedures including scaling, polishing, taking X-rays, and patient assessment.
  • Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and collaborate seamlessly with the dental team.

Pay: $40.86 - $49.21 per hour
