Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and support the overall health and well-being of our patients. Duties
- Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth to promote oral health.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental concerns.
- Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to safety protocols.
- Assist with chairside procedures using aseptic techniques and proper infection control measures.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
- Document patient information accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems, including medical coding when necessary.
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support pediatric dentistry procedures when applicable, ensuring comfort and safety for young patients.
- Collaborate with dentists and other team members to provide comprehensive patient care using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Maintain a clean, organized treatment area in accordance with infection control standards and OSHA guidelines.
Qualifications
- Valid Dental Hygienist license in good standing.
- Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar EMR systems.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control, and aseptic techniques.
- Experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry preferred; familiarity with medical imaging is a plus.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively.
- Ability to perform vital signs measurement and basic medical assessments.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and proper medical records documentation review practices.
- Prior experience in dental office or clinic settings is highly desirable.
