Dental Nurse

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Nurse to join our dental practice. The successful candidate will support dentists during procedures, ensure patient comfort, and maintain high standards of hygiene and organisation within the clinic. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about patient care and dental health to develop their skills in a professional environment. The Dental Nurse will be responsible for assisting with various dental treatments, managing patient records, and providing exceptional care to all patients.

Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and sterile
  • Support patient care by explaining procedures, providing reassurance, and ensuring their comfort throughout treatment
  • Maintain strict hygiene standards by sterilising equipment and managing infection control protocols
  • Manage patient records accurately using IT systems, including updating treatment notes and scheduling appointments
  • Provide pre- and post-treatment advice to patients, including oral hygiene instructions
  • Support administrative tasks such as booking appointments, handling patient enquiries, and managing clinical supplies
  • Ensure the dental environment is clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations
  • Communicate effectively with patients and team members to ensure smooth workflow within the practice

Requirements

  • Proven experience in patient care within a healthcare or dental setting is preferred
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken, for effective communication with patients and team members
  • Basic IT skills for managing electronic health records and appointment scheduling
  • Strong organisational skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment
  • Excellent communication skills with a caring approach towards patients of all ages
  • Relevant nursing qualifications or certification recognised within the UK healthcare system are desirable
  • Ability to work well as part of a team while maintaining a professional attitude at all times

Pay: £12.21-£17.00 per hour
