Dental Nurse - Stafford

Dental nursing, practised properly, is two disciplines held at once.

It is real clinical work - the radiographs, the decontamination, the careful preparation of a surgery so the clinician never has to wonder whether the next instrument is ready, the next chart open, the next client received. It is, also, a craft. The reading of the room. The blanket placed before it is asked for. The way you hold the small moments together while the clinician works upon the larger one. The unspoken part of the day no client could name, and yet every client feels.

We have spent the last several years building Stella around both halves of that work. We are looking now for a Dental Nurse at Stafford who recognises it and who brings something of their own to it.

About Stella

Stella Dental is a private group of three clinics across the Midlands, and Europe's leading Invisalign provider. The Stafford site sits on Co-Operative Street. Our clinicians work across Invisalign, implants, composite bonding, smile design, IV sedation, and the full breadth of cosmetic and restorative dentistry. The cases are varied. The standards are exacting. The team is small enough that you will know everyone by name within a fortnight.

Life at Stella

The clinicians ask you questions and listen to the answers. They notice when you have been on your feet since eight. They thank you, and they mean it. They want you to grow - into sedation, into treatment coordination, into whichever specialism most suits you and the practice provides for it.

The clients you will meet have chosen Stella because they care about their smiles, and about how they are looked after. Many are quietly nervous, even those who do not show it. The thing that settles them, more than anything we might say, is you - the manner of your greeting, the glass of water offered before it is asked for, the small considered acts that turn an appointment into something they will later describe to a friend.

The way we ask you to look after our clients is the way we look after you. It is the principle the practice is built upon.

The role

Full-time, permanent, based at Stafford. You will be chairside across the full clinical range. You will be responsible for surgery preparation and decontamination, radiographs (if qualified), digital scans, clinical photography, support of treatment planning, stock, and the running of the day. If sedation, Invisalign, or implant nursing is new to you, we will teach you.

The Dental Nurse we hope to meet

• GDC-registered, or close to qualifying
• The kind of nurse who reads the room before the notes
• Calm, considered, exact - and warm with it
• Genuinely curious about cosmetic and orthodontic dentistry
• Quietly ambitious - attentive to small things, and to whether they are right

If you have already grown into sedation, Invisalign, or implants, wonderful. If you have not yet, you will.

We hire slowly. The Stafford team is small enough that the next person makes a real difference to the feel of it - so we would rather wait for someone we are sure of than fill the chair quickly. We are hoping that someone is you. We will know when we meet.
