Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing front desk operations, ensuring a welcoming environment for patients, and providing exceptional administrative support. This role requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in dental terminology, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and manage the check-in and check-out processes.
- Schedule appointments and manage the dental office calendar effectively.
- Handle patient inquiries via phone and in-person with excellent phone etiquette.
- Process insurance verifications and assist with dental billing and coding.
- Maintain accurate patient records using EMR systems such as Denticon, Dentrix, or Eagle Soft.
- Review documentation for accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist in managing medical records, including filing and retrieval of patient information.
- Support the dental team with clerical tasks such as typing reports, preparing care plans, and managing correspondence.
- Ensure the front desk area is organized and presentable at all times.
Skills
- Proficient in medical terminology, including ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT coding, and dental terminology.
- Experience with EHR systems such as Denticon or Dentrix is preferred.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient service and satisfaction.
- Ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently.
- Previous experience in a dental clinic or medical office setting is highly desirable.
