Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and organized Dental Receptionist to join our vibrant dental team! Will consider full-time or part-time. Experience preferred but willing to train the right individual. Dental Assistants looking to transition to an admin position encouraged to apply. In this vital role, you will be the friendly face and efficient coordinator at the front desk, ensuring smooth patient flow and exceptional service. Your energetic approach will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel cared for from their initial contact through their entire visit. You will handle appointment scheduling, insurance verification, medical and dental record management, and provide administrative support to the clinical team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be the cornerstone of our patient experience while utilizing your strong office management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly, answer multi-line phone systems, and manage patient check-in and check-out processes with professionalism and enthusiasm
  • Schedule appointments accurately using dental practice management software such as Open Dental
  • Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance authorizations, and handle billing processes including collection tasks when applicable
  • Maintain and update patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Review documentation for accuracy, including medical history forms, treatment plans, and coding details for billing purposes
  • Assist with intake procedures, including collecting patient information and explaining treatment procedures in clear terms
  • Manage office supplies, file dental records securely, and support administrative functions such as appointment reminders and follow-up calls

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Medical or Dental Receptionist with clinic or office experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Willing to train the right candidate
  • Familiarity with dental practice management software such as Open Dental preferred, but not necessary
  • Excellent computer skills required
  • Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly under HIPAA guidelines
  • Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail in documentation review and office management tasks
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively
  • Strong organizational skills with clerical experience in filing, medical records management, insurance verification, and appointment scheduling
