Dental receptionist / insurance coordinator

Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Receptionist and Insurance Coordinator where your energy and organizational skills will be the heartbeat of our busy clinic. Located in the heart of trolley square, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming experience while multi tasking all aspects of insurance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine exceptional customer service with comprehensive dental administrative support in a fast-paced dental environment.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression and smooth check-in process
  • Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Dentrix
  • Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility using systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or EMR platforms
  • Process insurance claims accurately, including CDT coding, and documentation review to facilitate timely reimbursements
  • Manage patient records
  • Handle phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette across multi-line phone systems and assist patients with billing questions or appointment rescheduling
  • Perform dental collection activities to follow up on unpaid claims and outstanding balances while maintaining our customer service standards
  • Support clinic operations by managing filing of dental records, updating care plans, and performing clerical tasks such as data entry and typing with high accuracy

Skills

  • Extensive experience with dental office management software such as Dentrix as well as familiarity with dental insurance websites.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and dental billing procedures
  • Proven ability to verify insurance benefits efficiently using systems like eClinicalWorks or other EMR platforms; understanding Medicare and Medicaid policies is advantageous
  • Excellent patient service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and multi-line phone system operation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for documentation review and administrative support tasks
  • Ability to navigate health information management systems confidently while ensuring HIPAA compliance
  • Bilingual abilities are highly valued
  • Prior clinic or dental office experience is preferred; familiarity with dental terminology and care plans enhances performance in this role
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for filing, record keeping, and office management tasks
  • Capable of handling front desk responsibilities including scheduling, intake procedures, and medical administrative support with efficiency

Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
