Key Responsibilities1. Patient Consultation & Diagnosis
- Conduct thorough clinical examinations and review medical history.
- Diagnose conditions affecting oral and maxillofacial regions.
- Interpret X-rays, CBCT scans, and other imaging reports.
- Explain treatment plans, risks, and expected outcomes to patients.
2. Surgical Procedures
- Perform tooth extractions (including impacted wisdom teeth).
- Conduct minor oral surgeries.
- Perform jaw surgeries (orthognathic surgery).
- Manage facial trauma and fractures.
- Treat cysts, tumors, and oral pathologies.
- Perform dental implant surgeries.
- Administer local and general anesthesia (as permitted).
3. Post-Operative Care
- Provide follow-up care and monitor healing.
- Manage complications and infections.
- Prescribe medications appropriately.
- Maintain proper surgical records and documentation.
4. Collaboration & Teamwork
- Coordinate with dentists, orthodontists, anesthetists, and other specialists.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions.
- Guide junior doctors and support staff when required.
5. Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Maintain sterilization and infection control standards.
- Follow hospital protocols and medical ethics.
- Ensure proper documentation and consent procedures.
- Adhere to medical council regulations.
Qualification Requirements
- BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery)
- MDS in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
- Valid Dental Council Registration
- Minimum [X] years of clinical experience preferred
