Dental Treatment Coordinator

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dental Treatment Coordinator to join our vibrant dental team! In this pivotal role, you will serve as the bridge between patients and the clinical team, ensuring seamless communication, efficient scheduling, and accurate financial arrangements. Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and manage patient check-in and check-out processes with professionalism and excellent phone etiquette
  • Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance benefits explanation, and handle insurance authorization using systems like Epic, Meditech, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Athenahealth
  • Review patient medical records and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Schedule appointments efficiently using EMR systems such as eClinicalWorks or similar platforms; coordinate care plans with the clinical team
  • Assist patients with financial arrangements, including explaining treatment costs, payment options, and medical billing procedures involving CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 codes, Medicare, and other payers
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions, treatment plans, and billing information in electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Support office management tasks such as filing medical records, managing multi-line phone systems, and handling clerical duties like typing reports and data entry with precision

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a dental or medical office setting with strong knowledge of dental terminology and medical coding (ICD coding, CPT coding)
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems including Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Meditech, Epic, or Athenahealth; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential
  • Demonstrated ability in insurance verification, medical billing, claims processing, and documentation review
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service; bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; experience managing clinic schedules and care plans is highly desirable
  • Ability to handle sensitive information accurately while maintaining professionalism under pressure
  • Previous clinic or dental office experience is preferred; familiarity with hospital or healthcare environments is advantageous
