Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dental Treatment Coordinator to join our vibrant dental team! In this vital role, you will serve as the bridge between patients and providers, ensuring seamless communication, accurate documentation, and efficient scheduling. You’ll coordinate treatment plans, verify insurance benefits, and manage medical and dental records with precision. Duties
- Greet patients warmly and provide exceptional front desk support using professional phone etiquette and multi-line phone systems
- Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring optimal patient flow
- Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility through systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth, ensuring accurate billing and claims processing
- Review and update patient medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining accurate documentation review processes
- Assist with medical billing and coding using CPT, ICD-9/10 codes, and ICD coding standards to facilitate timely reimbursement
- Manage intake procedures including patient registration, data entry with high typing accuracy (10 key typing), and collection of necessary medical history information
- Support the dental team by maintaining organized filing systems for medical records and dental charts while managing office supplies and filing duties
Experience
- Proven experience in a dental office or healthcare setting with strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and health information management systems
- Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms is highly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to handle insurance verification, medical billing, coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), and documentation review accurately
- Excellent customer service skills combined with professional communication abilities for engaging with diverse patient populations; bilingual skills are a plus
- Prior clinic or hospital experience involving front desk duties, medical administrative support, or office management is highly desirable
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) along with dental practice management software like Dentrix or Eaglesoft
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards to ensure confidentiality of patient information at all times
