Dental Treatment Coordinator

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dental Treatment Coordinator to join our vibrant dental team. Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for patients, guiding them through treatment plans, financial options, and insurance details with enthusiasm and clarity
  • Verify insurance benefits, process claims, and handle pre-authorizations using systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar EMR (Electronic Medical Records) platforms like Meditech or Epic
  • Schedule appointments efficiently while managing multiple lines on multi-line phone systems with professionalism and excellent phone etiquette
  • Review patient records for accuracy, ensuring all documentation aligns with HIPAA regulations and medical billing standards including CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and Medicare requirements
  • Assist patients with financial arrangements, payment plans, and medical billing inquiries using software such as Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks
  • Maintain organized medical records and ensure compliance with health information management protocols
  • Support front desk operations by performing clerical tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and managing office supplies to keep the clinic running smoothly

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in dental office administration or medical administrative support with knowledge of dental terminology and clinic workflows
  • Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar platforms; experience with Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth is a plus
  • Strong understanding of insurance verification processes, medical coding (CPT, ICD-10/ICD-9), and Medicare guidelines
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in bilingual settings preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) along with strong typing skills (including 10 key typing)
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Previous experience working in a dental clinic or healthcare environment is highly desirable
  • Exceptional organizational skills combined with attention to detail to review documentation accurately and support care plans
