Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dental Treatment Coordinator to join our vibrant dental team! Duties
- Greet patients warmly and facilitate a smooth check-in process using dental office management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
- Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility using systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or EMR platforms
- Explain treatment plans clearly to patients, addressing questions about procedures, costs, and financing options
- Schedule appointments efficiently while managing multi-line phone systems and maintaining accurate calendar records
- Review medical and dental records for completeness and accuracy; ensure proper documentation review in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist with medical billing and coding using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD (International Classification of Diseases), ICD-9/10 codes, and Meditech or eClinicalWorks systems
- Coordinate with insurance companies for claim submissions, follow-ups, and payment processing to optimize collections
- Support front desk operations by managing patient files, filing documents, and maintaining organized medical records
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries with professionalism and empathy while demonstrating strong phone etiquette and clerical skills
Qualifications
- Proven experience in dental office administration or clinic support roles; familiarity with dental terminology and medical billing practices is essential
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar platforms
- Strong knowledge of insurance verification processes, dental coding, HIPAA compliance, and documentation review
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
- Bilingual abilities to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in medical records management and office operations
- Ability to handle high-volume phone calls using multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy
- Previous dental office experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills to provide outstanding patient service while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards
